Itinerary of Pikey Peak Yoga Trek

Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu (1365m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, known for its colorful markets, cafes, and trekking gear shops. In the evening, attend a welcome dinner where you will meet your trekking guide and yoga instructor. A short briefing will be given about the trek, the importance of yoga during high-altitude trekking, and the plan for the upcoming days.

Day 2: Kapan Monastery Visit & Drive to Mulkot (490m) – 4 Hours

Begin your day with an early morning yoga and meditation session at the hotel to align your body and mind for the journey ahead. After breakfast, you will visit Kapan Monastery, a serene Tibetan Buddhist monastery perched on a hilltop. This sacred site is an excellent place for meditation, offering panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley. You will have the opportunity to interact with monks and learn about Buddhist teachings.

After lunch, you will embark on a scenic 4-hour drive to Mulkot, a peaceful riverside town. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and unwind with an evening yoga session to relax your muscles after the drive.

Day 3: Drive to Dhap (2,930m) & Short Village Hike – 4 Hours

After breakfast, you will drive towards Dhap, the starting point of the trek. The 4-hour journey takes you through picturesque countryside, terraced fields, and rolling hills. As you gain altitude, the landscape transitions from lush greenery to alpine forests.

Upon arrival at Dhap, you will check into a local guesthouse. In the afternoon, take a short acclimatization hike around the village, allowing your body to adjust to the altitude. From here, you can get your first glimpses of distant Himalayan peaks. End the day with a gentle yoga session to stretch and prepare for the trek ahead.

Day 4: Trek from Dhap to Jhyapre (2,820m) – 6 Hours

Your trekking adventure begins! After a morning yoga session and breakfast, start your journey towards Jhyapre. The trail winds through rhododendron forests, small Sherpa villages, and terraced farmlands. You will pass Buddhist chortens and mani walls, adding a spiritual touch to the trek.

After approximately 6 hours of trekking, arrive at Jhyapre, a small settlement known for its cultural richness. In the evening, you will have a yoga and meditation session under the open sky, allowing you to connect deeply with nature.

Day 5: Trek from Jhyapre to Pikey Base Camp (3,640m) – 6 Hours

Start your day with an energizing yoga session before setting out on today’s trek. The trail gradually ascends through dense pine and rhododendron forests, offering breathtaking mountain views. As you climb higher, the air becomes cooler, and the surroundings more remote.

Upon reaching Pikey Base Camp, you will be welcomed with a panoramic view of the Himalayas. Take time to relax, enjoy tea, and acclimatize to the altitude. In the evening, practice recovery yoga, focusing on deep stretches and controlled breathing to help your body adjust.

Day 6: Summit Pikey Peak (4,065m) & Trek to Junbesi (2,700m) – 7 Hours

Rise early for the most awaited moment of the trek—summiting Pikey Peak. Start hiking in the dark with headlamps to witness an unforgettable sunrise from the summit. As the first rays of sunlight hit the mountains, a breathtaking panorama of Everest (8,848m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Makalu (8,481m), Lhotse (8,516m), Annapurna (8,091m), and Manaslu (8,163m) unfolds before your eyes.

After enjoying the view and taking photos, descend towards Junbesi, a charming Sherpa village. The trail passes through yak pastures, small settlements, and dense forests. Upon arrival, check into a guesthouse and rest before an evening yoga and meditation session to reflect on the incredible experience.

Day 7: Trek to Thupten Choling Monastery (2,920m) & Back to Junbesi (2,700m) – 4 Hours

After a sunrise meditation and yoga session, trek towards Thuptenchholing Monastery, a significant Buddhist site housing hundreds of monks and nuns. The monastery is a peaceful place where you can participate in meditation, learn about Tibetan Buddhism, and experience the spiritual side of the Himalayas.

Return to Junbesi for a relaxed afternoon, followed by an evening yoga session focusing on mindfulness and gratitude.

Day 8: Trek to Phaplu (2,469m) – 3-4 Hours & Drive to Okhaldhunga – 3 Hours

Enjoy a final morning yoga session in Junbesi before trekking to Phaplu. The trail descends gradually, passing through lush forests and small settlements. Upon reaching Phaplu, take a scenic drive to Okhaldhunga, a beautiful hill town offering a mix of local culture and natural beauty.

After checking into a guesthouse, join a relaxing yoga session, reflecting on the journey and the deep connection you've built with nature.

Day 9: Drive to Kathmandu – 6 Hours

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, passing through winding mountain roads and picturesque villages. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time to explore the city, do some last-minute shopping, or simply relax.

In the evening, celebrate your successful trek with a farewell dinner, sharing stories and experiences with your fellow trekkers.

Day 10: Kathmandu Sightseeing & Departure

On your final day in Nepal, explore some of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as:

● Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) – A hilltop stupa with panoramic views of the city.

● Pashupatinath Temple – A sacred Hindu temple along the Bagmati River.

After sightseeing, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, carrying home unforgettable memories of the Himalayas.
