Everest Panorama Trek Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival Day
Personal welcome at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to your hotel in the lively tourist district of Thamel. After a short briefing on our trip plans you will be able to go out to explore the bustling Thamel streets.
Day 2 - Kathmandu City Tour
After breakfast we will tour the city, visiting many of the “City of Temples” historic landmarks including Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, and the stunning Boudhanath Stupa.
Day 3 - Lukla to Pakding
After breakfast we will take a short 30 minute scenic flight into the mountain village of Lukla where we start our trek. From Lukla we will have an easy 3 hour walk up the Dudhkoshi Valley through small farms and villages towards Pakding village where we will stay in a local lodge for night.
Day 4 - Pakding to Namche Bazaar
The mornings walk will continue up along the Dudh Kosi river though forests and farms to the small village of Jorsalle where we will stop for lunch. From Jorsalle we will cross an impressive 100 high suspension bridge and ascend up to the mountainside town of Namche Bazaar. As we climb our of the valley you will be rewarded with views of the surrounding snow caped peaks and our first viewpoint of Mount Everest. Trekking: 3 hours
Day 5 - Namche Bazaar to Thame
Today we head up to the village of Thame which was the last permanent settlement on the ancient trading route over the mountains to Tibet. As we enter the sleepy old village we will see the home of Apa Sherpa who is one of the most decorated mountaineers from Nepal. For those wishing to explore a little more a short walk leads up to the local monastery that sits above the village. Trekking: 4 - 5 hours
Day 6 - Thame to Khumjung
We return halfway back to Namche Bazaar before we climb up to the villages of Kunde & Khumjung. Along our way we will visit the Everest View Hotel where we will have a spectacular view of Mount Everest. Kunde & Khumjung both sit at the foot of Khumbu Yül-Lha, the sacred mountain of the Sherpa people. Here we will also find the Kunde Hospital & Khumjung School which were both built by Sir Edmund Hillary who was the first person to climb Mount Everest. Trekking: 5 hours
Day 7 - Khumjung to Tyangboche
From Khumjung we have a nice walk across the beautiful hillside trails to the forested ridge line where we find the Tyangboche Monastery. The 100 year old monastery is the largest in the Khumbu region and beautifully decorated. From this vantage point we can she Mt Everest and the ever impressive Ama Dablam towing over us. If we are lucky the Tyangboche bakery will also be open which serves a surprisingly good selection of cakes. Trekking: 4 - 5 hours
Day 8 - Tyangboche to Monjo
After nearly a week of walking uphill in the mountains you will be happy as we start descending back downwards on our way back towards Lukla.. Today we will return down through Namche Baazar and then on to the village of Monjo for the night. 6 -7 Hours Trekking
Day 9 - Monjo to Lukla
On our last days trekking we will have an easy walk back to Lukla where we will be able to celebrate our successful trip with a Yak Steak and an Everest Larger! This is a great change to get some local souvenirs before we leave the mountains and fly back to Kathmandu tomorrow. 3 Hours Trekking
Day 10 - Lukla to Kathmandu
With a little luck the weather will be great and we will fly back to Kathmandu first thing in the morning. This will leave you with the rest of the day in Kathmandu to visit temples, look around the markets or simply put your feet up for the afternoon. We will meet up for a final dinner together before we have to say goodbye.
Day 11 - Departure
Transfer to Kathmandu Airport.
