Annapurna Sanctuary Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival Day

Personal welcome at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to your hotel in the tourist district of Thamel. After a short briefing on our trip plans you will be able to go out to explore the local temples and markets.

Day 2 - Kathmandu City Tour

After breakfast we will tour the city, visiting many of the “City of Temples†historic landmarks including Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, and the stunning Boudhanath Stupa.

Day 3 - Kathmandu to Pokhara by Private Vehicle

Today to travel to Nepals second largest city Pokhara near the start of the Annapurna Sanctuary trek. After the scenic drive through the Nepali countryside we will be able to enjoy the relaxed Lakeside Pokhara. 7 hour drive.

Day 4 - Pokhara to Tikhedhunga

This morning we will drive out to the start of the Annapurna Sanctuary trek at the village of Naya Pul. After just over an hours driving we will reach the trail head and begin trekking up towards the village of Tikhedhunga. The trail slowly climbs up through agricultural fields and rural villages until we reach our lodge for the night. 4 hours trekking.

Day 5 - Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

Our trail continues upward through farmland and then beautiful forests as we get higher. Nearer the top of todays walk we will get some great views of the 8000 metre peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

Day 6 - Ghorepani to Tadapani via Poon Hill

We will wake up early in the morning for sunrise trek to Poon Hill. From here we will enjoy the panoramic views of all Annapurna ranges including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna the 7th, 8th and 10th highest mountains in the world. We will return to our lodge for breakfast before trekking across the hillside, crossing streams and passing through rhododendron forests before arriving at Tadapani. 6 hours trekking.

Day 7 - Tadapani to Chhomrong 

We head back down into the Modi Valley that will lead us up to Annapurna Base Camp. As we descend we will pass though forests and terraced farms and villages before reaching Chhomrong for the night. 

Day 8 - Chhomrong to Bamboo

Our trail starts to climb again as we head towards Annapurna Base Camp. We will have great views of the steep valley and towering mountains as we make our way up the trail. We will pass through the bamboo forest that has named our village for the night.

Day 9 - Bamboo to Deurali 

As our trail continues up the valley there is a change that we will see Languors, deer or even a Snow Leopard. We will pass several waterfalls before getting to Deruali with plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery over the afternoon. 

Day 10 - Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp

Todays trail is not so long so we can take our time to enjoy the mountain view as we climb up to Annapurna Base Camp. We will arrive at ABC for lunch and have the afternoon to relax or explore the area before the beautiful sunset lights up the mountain peaks. 

Day 11 - Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo

As we head back down the valley you will notice a spring in your step after all though days of trekking uphill. With our newfound pace we will make it all the way down to Bamboo today.

Day 12 - Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

We will have another pleasant walk down hill as we trek down to the village of Jhunu Danda for the night. Once we get the we can visit the natural hot pools in the Modi River where we can have a much needed soak. 

Day 13 - Jhinu Danda to Naya Pul and Pokhara

Our last days trekking is a nice gradual descent along the bank of the Modi River back to the trail head at Naya Pul. From here we will drive back to Pokhara for the night and a well deserved beer watching the sunset over the lake. 

Day 14 - Return to Kathmandu

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. We will meet up for a final dinner together before we have to say goodbye.

Day 15 - Departure

Transfer to Kathmandu Airport.
